In order to build an AK-12, I went searching for a trunnion I could use to complete the project. Although I had Bulgarian units, they were already serialized, so I could not make all of my parts match elegantly if I wanted to.
Finally, after looking everywhere for a candidate trunnion, and purchasing several wrong ones, I stumbled on the answer. This is the perfect solution for an AK-12 or AK-74 build. It is a virgin Bulgarian/Russian pattern front trunnion with no serial numbers onto which one can add them to give the build that "factory" look.
The pilot hole for the barrel pin guarantees a nice true hole that is not egged out. Drill the pin hole with a 17/64 cobalt bit and then chase the hole with a 7mm reamer for a perfect barrel seat after the barrel is pressed in, head-spaced, and the pin installed.
Features:
- Machined from forged and heat-treated 4150 steel
- Finished in black oxide for corrosion resistence
- AK-74 bullet guide installed
- Pre-drilled piolot hole for barrel pin
- Fits standard 22mm barrel
- Drilled for sidefolding latch pin
- Barrel pin pilot hole
Do not miss the opportunity to purchase the ideal trunnion for that AK-12 or AK-74 build. Other than original Bulgarian or Russian trunnions, which are usually serialized, used, and extremely expensive, there is no better option than this virgin, new, and US-made part.
